The main difference is in health care and higher education. Other than that, the US offers public schooling, state funded or supported transportation infrastructure, old age pensions (Social Security) and a social safety net (Medicare/Medicaid/unemployment benefits). There really isn't as much difference as many like to think.

American Capitalism, to the extent that it exists. There are far too many regulations and restrictions on companies in the US albeit fewer than in Europe. But at least competition and success is encouraged here. We need to get rid of all regulations on business that don't directly deal with safety issues so our companies can continue to dominate.

Capitalism CANNOT work on its own and neither can Socialism. Both MUST work side by side. Capitalism has failed in America and we must now learn from this hard lesson.

European-style social democracy. Our current economic system is simply not sustainable in its current form...

Other. American "capitalism" has no resemblence whatsoever to a free market. We have a government/business collusion which is not capitalism. What we have is much closer to "the corporate state" that Mussolini supported.

I personally am decidedly libertarian, supporting maximum practical individual freedom and a true free market. Not that this has ever existed anywhere, but we all have to choose a foundation to work off of
