Not wanting to start another debate about Obama being qualified or not to hold the presidential post, (do not post about Obama), I have an interesting question about non americans who are adopted, and their qualifications to hold the presidential post.
Imaginary scenario:
American family, adopts a baby from China, during that process, a new birth certificate is issued from the american county where the adoption took place.
Now the question is, since the constitution requires an individual to be a natural born citizen, would this adopted baby be entitled to run for president?
At first, I would assume most would say no, they would not be qualified to run, but, an adoption in america is recognized legally as being a natural born child of the parents.
So, anyone want to debate if they would legally be allowed to be president?
No you are incorrect. In the US, an adopted child is considered a foreign born birth.
When you adopt a child Internationally and come home to the US and go through the re-adoption process you are issued by your State a certificate of foreign born birth.

My opinion< No. One must be born in America to become President. A chiid adopted by American parents still is not a natural citizen no matter. The birth certificate will not say "place of birth, Los Angeles Ca" or whatever.
He or she must be a "naturally born" citizen, which can include being born abroad to American citizen parents.
But that is a little different. Yes, tech you are correct, that would only refer to babies born while families are traveling for business, military or whatever but their legal residence is still America.

Your hypothetical scenario is flawed from the get-go. See, an adopted chinese baby would NOT be issued from the american county where the adoption took place. The necessary docs would come from china.
Thusly, the answer to your question is no, the chinese baby wouldn't have--sorry, I gotta say it--a chinaman's chance at becoming prez.
There really is no "debate" here, as you were hoping for; these are merely the facts.
Maybe next time try to be a little more imaginative with your thinly-veiled, passive-aggressive attacks on our CIC.
Peace.

The foreign documents of birth would come from china. The foreign country is where the adoption takes place. When the family came back to the US and completed the adoption on the US side via re-adoption then the child is issued a certificate of foreign born birth.
