Why is America still so chicken and scared to accept love & sex between a white woman (esp. attractive) and a black man; or any other colored man for that matter. Even to this day such a pair holding hands in public is enough to scare the c**p out of most Americans?
Is the baggage from its rabid Jim Crow past still so heavy in this day & age??
Print, cable and Hollywood simply won't touch the topic or even show a black guy kissing a white girl on screen (only sparingly). They'll even show 2 men kissing, but never the above mentioned.
I think it's terrible and probably because so many people are still racist and closed minded. Unfortunatley there are still people that see others as a color rather then a person. I guess they don't show it on T.V because they're more more worried about ratings and their sponsors.
I never noticed that this was much of a problem now days. There will always be people around still fighting the civil war, the constitution, womens rights, etc, etc. I say the people dwelling on the past issues need to move on..In fact I hope this thread can be an intelligent exchange, then move on.
What about a white man and a black woman? A lot of black guys hate that too. Trust me, I'm from Mississippi originally, the bias goes both ways. And yes, some black women hate white girls dating black guys.
I don't get it any way that it goes though. I've been attracted to black women before buy didn't want to pursue any because of the harshness that whites and blacks both can cause for interracial couples.
Americans are not chicken, cowardly, or scared to accept blacks and whites in relationships. I just believe some don't like it and why, I don't know. The words you use don't have anything to do with it. Why would anyone be a chicken, coward, or feel frightened?
I don't think it has anything to do with being a chicken or coward. Maybe we should look at it from a different perspective - the interracial couple is brave for putting it out there. Just b'c a few people aren't ok with black/white relationship doesn't mean people have to hide it. I say, if a couple says "Forget you, we're going to be happy together," then I wouldn't worry about what anybody else thinks. You can't make people think the way you do, nor would you want to, IMO.

Whats your opinion??
Will Smith is about to start shooting a movie in which his 'love interest' will be Charlize Theron. However, you're basically right about BM/WF relationships in America.
