So America falls to Norway....a country that believes in trolls/gnomes/elves/fairies...whatever.

Too bad Mexico isn't backed up to Norway...then they could take the illegals on and the rest of the mess the AMERICAN liberals love to give other people's monies away to fix.

And China? The country of one child per couple? The country that paints toys with lead-based paint? Yeah...that's a good one too!

Canada? The country full of people who not only bow down to a Queen but cross the border into the US for surgery and REAL heath care?

Ok.

The last time the UN was worth anything was never.

I agree with the poster who said the UN needs to pick it's sorry behind up and out of NYC and move it elsewhere. No need for the NY tax payers footing the bill for them. And no, not just b/c of this survey thing, b/c it's useless as a physical entity.

Hmm...I see that the country that mostly the right bashes is always in the top 10. Take a guess? Canada. It is evident that there is something Canada is doing right. Every list I see, they are above the United States and usually in top 10. Maybe we should look to our neighbors and see what is going on instead of screaming "SOCIALISM" every second at them.
I have no problem with socialism if it is actually done in a non-corrupt manner. Canada is less corrupt than the US. Anything the US government touches ends up f*cked up. There will always be those who will say "It'll be different this time when (fill in the blank) gets in office". But it never is.

Very true.

China has a FAR greater standard of living among the middle class. No one really follows the one child per couple. Next you're going to say Mao is still the country's leader?

I was one of those people but I did it because the Oba maos were trying so hard to get the Games in Chicago so Valerie Jarrett could make a pile of money. It is that cronyism that I was against, not the people from Chicago paying out the butt so those few could make a pile of money. I don't like Valerie Jarrett because as a slum lord she has just used too much of her position to make money. I wonder how many parts of that same slum Oprah owns, too.

China is #92 on the list. Well behind the US.

You know, let's see the criteria used to determine "best."
Would be nice if this really were the UN's list for a new home for itself.

I'd suggest Australia is far enough away but wouldn't want to destroy the country's credibility with an imposition of the UN. That, and if I couldn't be from Texas then I'd want to be from Australia.

Yes, it does. What also helps is a homogeneous population that only totals 4 million, great scenery, no pollution, etc. Socialism only works in countries where the population is homogeneous. That's why it will start to fail miserably in Canada. You'd think with the obvious example of Quebec, that Canadians would have learned that diversity causes problems that wouldn't otherwise exist. Their immigration policy is insane, driven by people who like to destroy things.

It would seem that this list speaks well for Social Democracy.
