I was one of those people but I did it because the Oba maos were trying so hard to get the Games in Chicago so Valerie Jarrett could make a pile of money. It is that cronyism that I was against, not the people from Chicago paying out the butt so those few could make a pile of money. I don't like Valerie Jarrett because as a slum lord she has just used too much of her position to make money. I wonder how many parts of that same slum Oprah owns, too.
I suppose you've seen that Jarret has sold her holdings so if there was benefit from selling any property, it wouldn't be her property. But, I know that doesn't make any difference to you... I imagine that there is some master plan that you've heard of and can't prove that would indirectly enrich her. And, frankly, even if Jarret would've profited modestly, which I don't think she would have, I guess it was worth saying to h*ll with all the folks in this country that hoped the USA would get another chance to host the games. Screw 'em.... right?
A Zogby poll showed that 72% of those polled support holding the Olympics in Chicago, down marginally from a Zogby poll late last year that showed 77% support.
Zogby International (http://www.zogby.com/Soundbites/ReadClips.cfm?ID=19082 - broken link)
A Chicago Tribune in late-August showed that 47% supported the Olympics and 84% of respondents disapproved of using public money. So what do you know, there are differences in the poll numbers. But, more folks wanted the games than were against it, 47% to 45%. http://chicagoist.com/2009/09/03/tri...port_for_2.php
and that shouldn't be ignored. But given the economy and the publicity push against it, those aren't horrible numbers. More folks wanted it than didn't... even in this environment.

Can you show us what holdings she actually has? Like public records that show she owns property? Especially property that would be related to the Olympics somehow or other. There must be public records available for what you say.... right?

I wouldn't know... why not do some research and find out so you can stop wondering and let us know.
So there are 12 places in the world "better" than the United States in which to live? Let's see how the next poll turns out, when Americans have descended upon these twelve "better" countries in droves. (...Which only makes complete sense. Why would anyone want to remain in an inferior country if they have the means to enhance their environment?)

Only the global elite have the ability to get out of America with their assets, and many of them are quite prepared, and others have already done so. Places like Switzerland, Israel, Cayman Islands.....these people aren't going to get caught at the exits of a burning theater, they'll slip out the back door nobody else has access to.
Helps what? We own a lot of oil too...just can't tap in for fear of messing with a few polar bears and caribou.

China has a FAR greater standard of living among the middle class. No one really follows the one child per couple. Next you're going to say Mao is still the country's leader?
No, I'm going to say that I just watched the news tonight and the way Chinese couples get away with having more than one child is through invitro and having twins +. Talk about fresh and updated info.
Mao who? Is he the guy Clinton gave US secrets to?

Not that easy to immigrate to those countries. Their immigration standards are tougher than ours.
It would seem that this list speaks well for Social Democracy.

Norway, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Switzerland, and Japan make out the top 10. Finland and Luxembourg also finished ahead of the US.
No, what it tells you is that countries with large White majorities are healthier societies. You know, as well as I do, that the USA is never going to hit the Top 10 again, when compared to those countries, not with our insane immigration policies.
So let's rate this on a credibility scale..are we saying that the UN which is virtually useless has managed to find something that they actually are good at?? I would be very interested in seeing what criteria was used..but in any event, I guess if you are an America hater, this is good news...
Me also, I put about no faith in any ratings or studies. There are too many vairables and to many ways to get the results a person or group wants to get.

IF you had bothered to read the report you would know what the "criteria" used were.
" The index compiled by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) ranks 182 countries based on such criteria as life expectancy, literacy, school enrolment and gross domestic product (GDP) per capita."
The top ten countries listed on the index are: Norway, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Japan.
Isn't it ironic how most of the countries in the top 10 are what Republicans would call a "socialist" country?!!
