According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Arnold Schwarzenegger owes the IRS $39,047 from 2004 and $40,016 from 2005.

In total the Guv owes $79,064.00 ... and as we all know, he's definitely not saving the money for rainy day traffic violations.

An official at the L.A. County Recorder's Office tells TMZ their system shows the lien is still active.

Politicians owe back taxes all the time. Nothing new here. We go to jail and get our property seized and our wages garnished, they just fight it and pay back a fraction of it. Just gotta love the IRS.

Owing back taxes hardly makes someone a tax cheat. It can happen to anyone.

Not paying them is another story.

There wouldn't be a lien if he had paid....the IRS gives you a chance to pay if you have back taxes...

Exactly. And it goes back to 2004. I would hope you know that you're owing taxes after 6 years....

Jealousy is a very nasty motive for a thread ...

Probably Arnold was misinformed by his accountants...

His value is 200m or so...

No way that he would deliberately try to cheat 40K from the authorities...

Sure...you think he just forgot...and got a lien without him knowing and his wife just forgot her seat belt and was talking on a hand held phone behind the wheel...just forgotten.

Only the rich are cheating when it comes down to millions, pocket money isn't cheating?

People as rich as Arnold have accountants & financial managers to handle tax matters.

Someone made an error or cheated ...

His wife had a concentration lapse.

We don't want cyborgs for leaders, just succesful human beings, with a few negative moments...
