The writer's obviously unaware of how many folks sense enemies nearby by the amount of stuff flying over their heads.

I guess you didn't bother reading it, (it was the opinion of one person as a op/ed and not the view of the LA Times) but your posting it was exactly what the article was covering.

Quote:
"Think back to 9/11 and how extraordinarily unified the United States was for that moment. In predictable fashion, the vast majority of Americans rallied around President George W. Bush"
.

You must of read the byline and thought, yep, that's another story that i can say - see, they want that. But it seems like it's those on the right are the ones who want the destruction of america, just to regain self proclaimed god given right to rule this country.

Quote:
With 9/11 less than a decade past, we've returned to our corners to fight it out among ourselves with a vengeance.....................Despite the fact that we have dangerous global enemies, the members of the disgruntled right seem content to find their primary enemies domestically. Though angry political dissent is an American tradition, the vitriol is reaching new levels. Last week, a columnist for a conservative website fantasized happily about a coup d'etat toppling President Obama.
So nice find. You proved his point.

And shown that the right is pathetic. Nice job.

What??? Did you read the article? What specific points do you disagree with? Or are you going to simply resort to name calling and paranoid ranting?

The author simply has a short memory. That's my only objection.

Presidencies that don't have a defining national moment are usually forgotten presidencies. Clinton is smart enough to know this and egotistical enough that it will eat him up.
