Apple, joins Nike,, Johnson & Johnson, and three of the largest utility companies, Excelon Corp, Pacific Gas & Electric, in resigning from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for its denial and opposition to climate change legislation. Many of whom have go on to establish a green energy lobby, We Can Lead.
Just goes to show that there is BIG money to be made from "global warming"... Imagine paying TAXES to a COMPANY just because you are alive and want to use electricity, water, or EVERYTHING... that's what carbon credit is all about... making money off of people... if you were serious about green energy, you only need to regulate it WITHOUT taxing people... apparently companies rather tax people for more money... scrw them... leave, I already know what these companies are really about...
I'm glad companies are doing what is right and not bowing to the political pressure like the government. I think companies that take a social interest should be rewarded with patronage. I'm not one to think that the only reason they do it is to screw a tax payer out of a buck I'm no where near that jaded. Isn't it the government that is really putting that screw in?

Of course there is which is why I find the global warming denial movement so ludicrous. Without entering into a debate over global warming, it is clear that there is a considerable and growing market for green technology so instead of fighting over the truth of global warming, why not profit from it? I just don't understand the rational from making the U.S. the center of green technology in light of the ever diminishing industrial base.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am not in any way a denier of global warming.
There are hundreds of Billions of $s a year invested worldwide in renewable energy projects. This will be a major new industry of the 21st century and the United States is lagging behind. The countries like Denmark, and Germany who have gotten fully on board are prospering already from the international business. The US Chamber of Commerce is badly out of step and is hurting itself and its members by the mindless denial of global warming.
BTW Apple has also resigned from the Chamber of Commerce. Now how does Apple make money off climate change?
Fact is, people are increasingly concerned about the environment. This is especially true for younger people. Corporations are not stupid. If their customers and employees are worried about the environment they are not going to alienate them by opposing change.
