It’s always easy to look back at mistakes, but it appeared that the nation fails to learn from any of them. Thus we are stuck where we are in this mess.

Logical and knowledgeable people with information failed to be heard by the administration.

To kick the ass of the perpetrators of 911.

A lot of historians used to say that Afghanistan was the Soviet Union's "vietnam" and I think that it is a fairly accurate analogy to say that if we leave tis job unfinished, or are forced to fight with one hand behind our back, it could result in being our "Vietnam: The Sequel."
Liberals, back off: we MUST bel allowed to win this war. It is a doable thing! Fer Cryin' out loud, we defeated Japan and Germany at one time, surely you must know we can take care of a few thousand Islamo-thugs.
I agree with you completely. The only thing is this could go on for ever with Pakastan next door harboring Al-Quida and the Taliban. I always said we should have invaded Pakastan, to hell with what every other country thinks.

I believe they where Saudis, but Saudi Arabia had nothing to do with it. Afghanistan was a training facility for Al-Qaeda.

I knew they where Saudi's but I never heard that they came from Afghanistan? However it seemed that Al-Qaeda was a good target of choice at the time. Then the administration took their eyes off Afghanistan and looked at Iraq as a target.

As big a moron as Saddam Hussein was, he was no real threat to us or Israel for that matter. Iraq was a mistake as far as I am concerned.

It would appear that our leaders at the time looked for reasons like oil, contracts with corporations, and payouts to others as a good reason for the war efforts and took their eyes off of why they started the war. It’s becoming a failure in Iraq and Afghanistan. NOT because of our troops or military but because of politics in Washington with big business and corporations.

Yes, of course; the same way we took care of Ho Chi Minh and his handful of crazy Vietcong.
