NO, it wasn't a debate, it wasn't meant to be a debate, the doctors weren't invited to give their points of view. They were invited because they're point of view was known. They were invited to go and show support for the President's point of view.
HOW DO YOU NOT GET THAT??????
They were invited for a photo op to try and promote the Gov policy.
When have you ever seen the President debate someone outside of presidential elections?
And what about this not being a debate makes it nontransparent?
How are you being transparent when you only show one side of an issue? The side that you want to show. To be transparent you have to show all sides and you can do that because your policy is strong enough.

wow that sounds like being a lobbyist
You really have no clue, do you? Obviously you don't understand what a lobbyist is. There is no way to discuss this with you if you don't at least know the language.
It is what they did not say but implied in their statements that, to me, is disingenuous to say the least. The implication was that these were just doctors gathered together at the spur of the moment when it was anything but.
I don't have a problem with staged political events, as long as they are clearly labled as such and not a popular uprising.
The story I heard on the Denver NPR station, was that this Denver doc was invited to the WH. Of course these docs didn't just all gather at the spur of the moment. There certainly was no intent to deceive in the story I heard. I don't know where you're getting any information otherwise.

Oh yeah 30-40 docs just happened to all decide to fly to Washington and have lunch at the Old Ebbitt Grill on the same day. One says, "Hey, as long as we're all here, why don't we all walk over to Barack's house. We could give him some advice on health care." The rest is history.

I see you don't grasp the concept of "transparent" either.

To me it was indeed a staged event. Only specific doctors, those who proclaim support for the program were invited. Then they were decked out in their lab coats for the photo op. No opposition was to be tolerated. In a spontaneous event, they would not all be dressed the same and probably there would be some who disagree on the subject presented.

Since when does transparent show only one side of an issue? Why doesnt Obama show us the info he has even if it goes against what he wants? Now that would be transparent.
