That's right...we forget in the midst of the chaos that this is a good crisis we mustn't waste.

Hmmmm...what else are they doing while we are preoccupied?

Look up public infrastructure and start to wade your way through. Could take a while though...

Just a link or two would do. I'm sure you didn't just pull that information out of your hat. Or, did you?

It's currently about 47 million, and a person with any sense would know better than to believe that some Magic Wand can be waved and...POOF!...everyone's got coverage.

But if the whiners are going to whine until the number goes to zero, then they are going to have to butt heads with the screamers over the 5-6 million of the uninsured that are also undocumented. The Whiners vs. The Screamers in a steel-cage death-match. I look forward to it...

Many illegals are covered already. They simply buy insurance just as anyone else might do. Meanwhile, people who get sick or injured here get treated here. The question is how we will pay for that. The most efficient way is if everyone has insurance and everyone pays a share of the costs for it. Pretty simple if you don't let a bunch of mindless irrelevancies get in the way.

Tax increases on medicare services are going to take effect immediately although the healthcare program does not come to fruition (people can't sign up) until 2013. THAT'S how the CBO magic numbers came about. Since there is no legislative language in the Bacus BIll, the CBO scored NOTHING! It's an estimate. No legislative language. A synopsis. Get it?

"only 829 billion over 10 years"..........
.............
.............
............
remember what the politicians said back in 1966 on medicare:
“They also said Medicare would ONLY cost $12 billion by 1990. "
It ended up being $107 billion just for that year– eight times the government estimate...now up to 391 billion A YEAR.

this is what the FEDERAL government spent in 2008

medicare 391,266,000,000 ------------391 BILLION
medicaid woth SCHLIP 211,353,000,000---211 BILLION
VA 33,979,000,000-----------------------33 billion

that's 636,598,000,000-------------636.598 BILLION THIS PAST YEAR...AND GROWING

medicaide is a single payer system, btw

Two words, Laz-E-Boy...Personal Responsibility®. You want to claim that you or <sanrene> or anyone else could put up a post on C-D in the absence of a public infrastructure provided by government at bargain-basement prices, go ahead. Get out of these petty gimme-a-link weeds, and show us what you've got.

So we are going to spend $900B to increase the "insured" by 9%?

Wouldnt it be cheaper to just buy the 29million people insurance that are currently without it?

But that wouldn't give ultimate control of the nation's HC to the government - the goal of obama and the left.
