Yeah.
Still waiting to see how much longer our worthless currency will continue to say "In God We Trust" on it.
Surprised it hasn't been changed to "Obama We Trust" by now.
Man, this president can't accomplish ANYTHING can he?
US currency has only said that since the 50s - during the period when everyone was flipping their lids about "godless" communists.
It's fascinating the way threads like this reappear every year at this time. And no matter how much screaming and yelling goes on, the bottom line never changes: religious displays on public property can and will be challenged. (Simultaneously, we get to listen to a lot of whining about how Christianity is under attack). No surprises here; it's just the 2009 version of a thread that must surely be exactly as old as C-D.
Older because I remember the same arguments going on ten years ago on AOL!
They already have. The Dearborn school district in Michigan outlawed pork products.
Got a link? I can understand them limiting it because, even when I left Michigan in 1998, Dearborn had a very large Muslim population that could very well be a majority now. But they still would have no legal right to tell the non-Muslims what to eat.
So, "godless" communists no longer exist, I assume?
They faded away into oblivion ever since democracy and Capitalism took over the world, I suppose?
Let's imagine for a moment that all communists were (and still are) atheists (even though this is, and always was a million miles from the truth). What difference would it make?
Would it have stopped them from from placing Japanese citizens into camps during WWII? Would it have stopped them from intentionally giving smallpox infected blankets to Native Americans? Would it have stopped them from dropping atomic bombs on Japan? Lynching freed slaves?
Please post all anti-Christmas conduct and hate on this thread.
Evidently, there was this one man alone on a mountian top with his dog. On Christmas Eve, he stole presents from all the homes in this tiny village. The following morning, the villagers sang and they all had a giant feast.
Yes, the Grinch...he was VERY anti-Christmas.
