I guess men really are from Venus since our CO2 problem is allegedly man-made.

yamal is worthless, Mann's formula's are biased. IPCC is even backtracking!

come one bro, get a dataset that hasnt been compeletely discredited!
Nope the original work by Mann, Bradley and Hughes was reviewed by the National Research Council at the request of Congress. Their report corroborated the study findings while making recommendation to improve the estimates. What I posted include many subsequent studies, which include and extend the recommendations made by the NRC and some use other proxies. The most significant weakness of the original study was reliance on tree ring data for temperature proxies and the validity of that approach was difficult to validate. There are now multiple proxies used. They all give the same answer -- global temperatures are increasing at alarming rates.

Red herring Ferd.

Do you deny that men pumping CO2 in to the air isnt, at minimum, exacerbating the problem?

Not all CO2 is anthropogenic. But the temperatures on Venus do show conclusively that high CO2 concentration lead to high temperatures. Good issue to raise GOPATT.

Think about the statement made above. Venus used to be identical to earth before the CO2. Who introduced all that nasty greenhouse gas? A past civilization perhaps. Or perhaps it was natural. Maybe a Volcano. Either way, unless you believe in little green men, it was not AGW.

This man-made global warming is a complete scam.

This scam has brought together many unlikely partners.

The corporate greed heads see a way to get rich selling green energy to the public while getting free subsidizes from government.

The politicians gain power and control over the people with laws to govern every aspect of their lives. Like the threat of taking away the social security benefits of the elderly, they use the lies of man-induced global warming to beat their political opponents over the head with. They work in cahoots with the corporations by funneling free subsidizes their way, in exchange for campaign contributions, and support thru their many corporate allies, such as multinational conglomerates like GE, which brings with it NBC radio, TV, GE Energy and its GE Healthcare division.

The environmentalists get to expand their control over the lives of people thru influencing government on legislation, and they finally get to stick it to oil, gas and coal.

The science communities get to hold down a steady paycheck, paid for with large government grants, as long as they do their part in scaring the public with tales of catastrophic doom and gloom and creating the epicycles of man-made global warming, which keeps the whole scam alive and well.

Yup, because of global warming people here in Wisconsin are complaining on the "Garden Talk" shows of WPR, that they can't grow much of anything because of the cool weather and short growing period.
Oh bother, another one of the C-D Literal "scientists" again....
Seriously, mods, can't these all just get lumped into their own thread....
Perhaps under the subforum title of:

Literally Challenged

I deny that we have enough science to make a scientific assessment of the problem. That aside, I am a greenie to some extent for practical reasons.

But assume we scientifically can prove it. Big assumption. What do we do about it? Solar is a net energy minus. Wind can't do it. You guys refuse to allow nuclear plants. We already spend billions on research. It really becomes a population control issue. You guys seem more committed to the cause than me so you go first.

Got a link for this wild statement? Regardless of how Venus got it's atmosphere the surface temperature of ~900ºF show that you don't want CO2 very high.

You keep saying it.

but the thing that matters isnt that it is getting warm. It is that the data sets you reference remove the MWP. We know that is false!

and Briffa has been debunked in the last month once again. Yamal is dead. all of those datasets after Mann have Yamal from Briffa and it is bunk!

IPCC is working hard to get rid of the MWP and has failed. THAT is the point.

the current warm period is not in dispute. What is in dispute is if this current warm period is somehow different than the previous one.

NO ONE has proven that it is. The MWP was as sharp in its rise and lasted for 300 years! And some argue it was at least a degree warmer than today.
