Criminals may have been hired for census work - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Quote:
The GAO fears that the name checks performed on those employees was not sufficient without fingerprints.

"It is posisble that more than 200 people with unclassifiable prints had disqualifying criminal records but still worked and had contact with the public during address canvassing," Robert Goldenkoff of the GAO said in a report to a senate subcommittee yesterday.
How nice. Guess I won't be opening my door when alone.

"It's possible"
"May have"

Allllll speculation. For 200 people. They still did the actual background checks on those people.

Default Recidivism in Nation's Prisons

Do you know that there is a high degree of recidivism in our nation's prisons because society won't give ex felons a chance????
Why We Must Fix Our Prisons | Parade.com
Wasn't prison meant for punishment and now that they've been released it means that a judge has deemed them safe to reenter society??? Who should pay for their food, housing and shelter? Their relatives? Isn't that violating the eight amendment (undue punishment)?? If no one hires them, if the prisons release them, if the homeless shelters turn them away, what chance do they have at making an honest living??? Google it.

I dont know how I feel about felons working for the gov but I do agree that those that have been in jail or with a criminal record if they were able to actually get a decent paying job chances are they wouldnt go back to criminal ways.

Now I dont think that those with sexual crimes should be able to work around children. Other then that or working for the gov let them work and be productive
