Yasser Arafat won it in 1994. Wasn't he a terrorist? Oh well so much for the credibility of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Undoubtedly it doesn't compute; it's just another lie. You aren't surprised, I'm sure.
That link is just a bit old - seems the flack from around the globe has caused the committee to speak out.

And that's really not what I am about at all; further, as another poster said, imagine what we could accomplish if we were concerned about real issues. So. I'm done with this thread. I and everyone else had plenty of time and space to say what they wanted to say.
Blessings to everyone -- including the Republicans.
A smile curls the corners of my mouth when someone posts "I'm not coming back to this thread" .... but FIRST they're going to have their say and see if they can make it the last word. You can't ... it's never the last word.

It's all a real issue. It all adds up to the big picture. The Nobel Peace Prize stands for something so much larger than the award, or it once did. Now it's lost its lustre somehow.

People have poured their love, devotion and trust into one man ... even the Nobel Peace Prize Committee who somehow concluded in 12 days that he should be rewarded this prize for something he has not yet done, but they believe he will do because he sounds good. That is the same reason he was elected ... he was rewarded for what the majority of voters believe he will do.

But so far ... almost 9 months into his Presidency and he has done nothing, absolutely nothing.

It's a long hard fall from such an exalted place. And even Barack Obama knows that.

Who put him on the pedestal? His voters, Acorn recruits, democrats, liberals by any name, maybe even some moderates that dared to hope he was what he seemed to be. He certainly seemed to enjoy being on the pedestal, but with the polls declining, he'll have a tough time holding on to it.

I hear that Chia Pet Obama is flying out the door at Wal Mart faster than Sarah Palin's book is selling on Amazon.
