Sure you can. He can and he did. It's the Nobel's award and they can give it to whomever they want for whatever reason they want. If they choose to make political statements with the award, that's their right. It's their award to give.

The nomination list is kept secret.

The bigger question is, why do you think Obama deserved the prize after being nominated only 10 days into his Presidency? What did he do in 10 days Peggy?

I look forward to an intellectually inept liberal response.

Obama was nominated within 10 DAYS OF INAUGURATION!

What could he have possibly done in 10 days to spur this award? Only the most intellectually inept of the liberal set could defend this.

(yes, I will keep saying this over and over again. Liberals have no leg to stand on. Obama should refuse the prize)

The REAL problem (besides Obama being black) is that repubs/rightists HATE anything related to Peace....hence the whining and mewling...

Well I'm sorry for the other noble peace prize winners then, because really it only diminishes their accomplishments they worked hard for...

"So soon? Too early. He has no contribution so far," former Polish President Lech Walesa, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, said Friday. "He is still at an early stage."

The repub/rightists expected Obama to turn the entire economy around and end the war in ten days ...so according to THEM ten days is long enough to earn a Nobel!!!
