Ah, the real agenda of the OP rears it's head.........
Hmmm...not actual Californian independence, but an insidious transfer of statehood from the United States to Mexico! What a surprise that would be, when a new wall goes up. A wall running along the northern and eastern borders of California!
Provided California could develop a fresh water source, the country would be an exporter nation of fruits, nuts, veggies, films and drugs (pot). It would also be ethnically diverse and I suspect after the white folks abandoned the country for the U.S., that whites would be a minority.
The way the divisive attitudes of the U.S. have become so well exposed, I don't see a reason to keep the 50 state collective so tightly bound. Let the states or regions break out on their own. I'm sure my Texas passport would get me into and out of the same countries as a U.S. passport.
Absolutely...I want a progressive nation, not a conservative one.
This isn't a bad thing as long as you don't go too far by sacrificing the bigger picture to appease a few. CA doesn't seem to know where to stop (went too far one way). They are now paying for it big time. I mean this as no offense. I see you are from San Diego. I used to live there, and I really liked it. That being said, CA is example of what not to do...and we appear to be trying to do it. Again...no offense. It's an observation/opinion. You can disagree all you want, and I respect that. The proof is in the pudding, however (IMO).
I would support Californians if they want to become their own country. We shouldn't force states to stay in the Union if they don't want to be a part of it.
