As far as their ties to being socialist, only in their pre-amble to their constitution is it mentioned, not as a way of poilitical ideology, but It implies social equality. (that the government and laws are supposed to be for all of the people, not just those of financial means)
Hogwash.

A cast system is different in the fact that one is not able to move to a higher level. It is not allowed.

Here, though there is class seperation, upward mobility is available and encouraged.

To compare the tough love attitude of conservatives to a cast system is absolutely ridiculous and simply fear mongering to push a socialist or worse communist agenda.
