Diversity is a bad thing. Look at the "uniform" nations, such as Japan. One language, one culture, one people tend to get the job done. Multiple languages and cultures detracts from a society achieving greater goals.

You should read a history book sometime. Seriously. Diversity is what America IS, and always HAS BEEN.

Unless, of course, you think all those other countries are better than this one because they are not diverse.

Diversity is, and has always been, important to me. Things would be pretty one dimensional and downright boring if it was all the same. Different people and cultures contribute so many different things, from food, to music, to ideas. I'd be missing out on a hell of a lot in life, IMO. I can't even fathom living in a vanilla world.

So you see these successful White countries like the U.K or Canada claiming "it's our diversity that makes us great" even though the countries were already successful countries before third world people began to flood in three decades ago. These White countries would be successful anyway, it's not their diversity.

If diversity is so great, why are only White countries participating in it?

Would Japan be better off if they began to import the entire third world?
To answer the OP, promoting diversity would encourage us to think from another's point of view, presumably to prevent us from walking around spouting ignorant rants from an uniformed point of view.
Think about it.

Diversity as a social issue means nothing. Now, diversity in relation to skills (supervisory skills, work skills, management skills, and so forth....) is real good.

When was the last time any of you thought through a diverse view point? I'm rolling my eyes because I doubt anybody walks the walk.

Why is it important to have diversity in nature ? I know one thing : I am getting tired of seeing people dressed the same. Las Vegas is a good argument for diversity. Something for everyone. I enjoy seeing people who are different. They get noticed. Not an ego thing. They just look like they care about being unique. I get tired of all white people all the time. I like to see Guys in turbans, pink mowhawks, Women in saris, people in hats. Diversity ties in with inspiration, and creativity. Being unique in some way can be an ice breaker to get people into dialogue.

There is a difference between actively excluding someone, and thriving to increase or actively pursuing more diversity.

Diversity is important, because without diversity, we'd all be the same.

nothing at all wrong with diversity per se - -it's the diversity uber alles/ diversity-for-diversity's sake that is the problem.
