Not quite. You might not go to jail but my understanding is that any insurance will have to be a government approved plan. As I've stated several times, 8 million families who currently use HDHP's and HSA's...their plans won't be approved and they'll be stuck when the insurance companies stop offering all of the 'undesirable' plans even if they are the most AFFORDABLE for many people. Many other insurance plans won't qualify either...because they don't include all the new mandates. Even if insurance companies do offer some plans not approved by the government people will still have to pay a fine for not having government approved plans. So, people buy their own insurance and the government says, "That's not what we want you to have. Buy different insurance (at a much higher cost) or pay the fine."

That's right. The hospital will just write off his care, and we'll all pay for it.

This whole post has been splitting hairs on health care reform. The bottom line facts are that we as individuals have to take responsibility for our own health care. Business does not have to provide it. The government made an effort to provide it but the cacaphony on the right shot that down. This is an insurance industry issue. They want a stiff penalty if people are not mandated to get insurance. There is no way to balance their books if only sick people purchase insurance. The government plan wil dis-allow providers to exclude people with pre-existing conditions. You must pick up the financial slack with manditory insurance on healthy people to pay the bills. It's really simple and basic economics.

If we weren't so obsessed with making war, that money saved could go into covering everyone for free. I have never seen so many unhealthy people before in my life. Overweight, smokers, alcoholics.

How soon until there's a class action lawsuit?.

IMO, the day the law takes effect, an action will be filed for a TRO. IMO it will be granted.

Litigation on this "reform", if passed and signed into law - will be in the courts for 15 / 20 years - minimum.

The money saved wouldn't be enough to pay for covering everyone for free.

Life changed for all of us when the people who would destroy us brought down the world trade centers. We can't deny what happened, nor can we ignore it. We didn't start the fire. We must respond to the threat.

So much for your claim of being a lawyer.

No law is detailed enough to anticipate every conceivable circumstance that might arise over the next 15 to 20 years. Any law in continuous operation would be expected to be the subject of litigation.

As soon as any HC bill that mandates the purchase of insurance is signed by obama. Actually, probably as soon as any bill with a government run option is signed by obama.

Default You still have the freedom to jump down a bridge or to leave this country...

Everyone is gonna be forced to have insurance or pay a fine. HUGE class action lawsuit coming. HUGE.
Don't forget: This is the "Country of the Free" - Freedom is one of the greatest values of our democracy and nobody is forced to buy health insurance. You have several options:

1. Jump down from a Freeway bridge
2. Shoot a bullet through your head
3. Hang yourself
4. Apply for political asylum in North Korea or Iran
