I wonder if the fathers are there for their children.

Like they're supposed to be.

Default FACING the problem?

what i propose is much more realistic. there is nothing good about kids in school having children at young age even if some will be okay. birth control and abortions should be available to them. if they don't want to have an abortion, then that's fine. let them and thier parents handle it. if they think they can handle going to school and raising a child then that's fine too. many end up pregnant simply because they do want to get on welfare. some end up this way because birth control was not available to them or they could not ask their parents for it. so it's an issue of facing the problem honestly.
Abortions provide an easy, irresponsible way out for these kids. Abortion teaches that "it's okay if you get pregnant, just come into one of our many convenient locations and terminate your child". It does not teach prevention and should never be an option.

I would stick to education and birth control.

You know what?

Sadly that is the problem. Not just fathers not being there but mothers as well.

Todays kids have no guidance. Mom and dad have no idea what Sally or Johnny are up too.

Sad, huh?

it's pretty clear why so many feel they are comfortable with getting pregnant and that is welfare.

i guess, we can just tiptoe around the issue and rail at parents for not being good parents, kids for having sex and it will not make one iota of difference. lol
I understood what you said, and I think that we should JUST stick to birth control and education.

Well, whenever we have discussions about abortion on this board, according to many posters, the issue is simply a matter of what a woman wants to do with her body.
The man's rights or consideration for the unborn fetus are a distant second place.

Where are your links which document an equivalent high school in Arkansas.

It is no longer socially unacceptable.
When it was, there was a better effort made to not become 'shamed'.
When becoming pregnant most often meant you were going to end up married, a better effort was made not to.
When becoming a mother meant your friends kept on with their lives but yours suddenly meant having nothing in common, better efforts were made.
Hell...now it's common to be able to stay in school and you and your friends just carry on but with strollers alongside.

so passion is a dirty word for you? Mississippi has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the country ... shall we label them a passionate state?

What exactly is "moral order"? Sounds kind of ummmmmmm ... Orwellian?

I don't think I've heard "loose sexual morals" since Footloose or O Brother Where Art Thou.

very creepy post ... IMHO.

Many have nothing.

And having a baby is having something.

So they have a baby.

No deep moral conflict or religious logic needed.
