and lives to post about it in a forum.

Sure there are some parts of the country where using your cell phone while driving would be pretty stupid. But the majority of places it is pretty safe, hence not many cars and turns, etc...

Most people started driving when they were 16. They started driving with 2 hands on the wheel. A day later they switched to 1 hand on the wheel. And drove that way until they turned very old (like 65 or so) and used 2 hands for the first time in their life since they were 16.

Yet, some states believe that us peasants shouldn't have the freedom to have a cell phone in our unoccupied hand while driving. Yet, MILLIONS of people each day in the US use their cell phones and eat food and put make up on while driving and never have an accident because of it.

There are some people that are bad (overly aggressive) drivers. They have been causing accidents before there was even one cell phone on the road. Also, there's a thing called the sun that has a large impact on causing rear end accidents. I think Kalifornia has a vote on whether or not to outlaw people driving east during the first two hours of sunrise and west during the last two hours of sunset in an effort to provide a safer roadway for its peasants.

Time to face the facts--- Non-alert people (sleep deprived/day dreamers) cause accidents most the time. You can be alert while talking on the phone and driving, it's called multitasking, which is not hard to do at all. People take risks in life and most are smart enough to know when it's safe to multitask while driving and when it's better to just hang up right away. Let individuals make decisions for themselves.

More stupid laws = More criminals = Poorer citizenry

I'm all for taking one more thing out of the mix that could cause a fatality.
