The whole point of the article is that Faux does not offer honest, responsible dissent, but instead presents a literally un-American -- Australian, British -- "model of politicized media."
The plain and simple truth about Fox News. They report, you decide. Beck doesn't use words of some reporter at Newsweek, he uses film clips and recordings of a person's own words to show everyone what the heck is going on. Refreshing, isn't it. It's hard to call someone a liar and bigot when your own words are staring you in the face. Other news channels do it also, just not to democrats. God forbid they turn in their own kind.
I've subscribed to Newsweek for many years, and they have obviously given up any pretense of being an unbiased news source. Their current crop of writers, with the exception of the financial writer, Robert Samuelson, bristle with disgust for for anything conservative, GWB, and strike back furiously at any critique of this current administration and it's policies.
Newsweek has totally embraced a liberal agenda and let their writing staff become much more "boisterous and demagogic" than anything I've seen on Fox, witness articles like "Killing Granny" and "Is Your Baby Racist".
I still read Newsweek, partly because they had to lower their subsciption rates to almost zero (24 ads in one issue), partly because it so accurately espouses a total liberal agenda. It's very hard to take seriously anymore.
Why are you folks striking so hard at the one news source that hasn't been totally co-opted by this administration? Doesn't it make you a little uncomfortable that all media sources just totally agree with this president? Any independent thinkers out there?
I used to rely on them too, but it's as if their writing staff's offices had all the drinking fountains plumbed with a Kool Aide line from the White House.
The rag now seem better suited as filler in doctors waiting rooms across the country along with "Better Homes".
Now Obamas little soliders pick up and take on the war on Fox news.
How about respecting peoples freedom of speech
Which news channel helped break acorn? Fox or MSNBC hmmm Which would I consider " real " news source The one that actually covers the news or the one that the Obama admin admits to controlling the message

And what of Newspeak?
Did it offer honest,responsible dissent?
Currently it offer NO dissent,as that would be in opposition to Obama.

Since when is disagreeing with the president and his policies un-American? Isn't the right to complain, protest, and speak your opinion one of the founding principles of the United States of America to begin with?
Oh, that's right, I forgot, it is okay if the president is republican, but un-American if the president is democratic. Sorry my bad.
Wouldn't it be nice if this administration hit back at the Taliban as hard as they try to hit Fox?
The Admin is fighting its true enemy when doing this....
