To find out who is watching TV and what they are watching, the company gets around 5,000 households to agree to be a part of the representative sample for the national ratings estimates. Nielsen's statistics show that 99 million households have TVs in the United States, so Nielsen's sample is not very large. The key, therefore, is to be sure the sample is representative.

Who cares? The sampling shows that Americans are involved and concerned. Even if they don't agree with Beck, it seems they are interested in what he has to say. This does not bode well for the Obama administration.
Didn't look at the clip, but I did catch this lead-in (did you?):
"You should open up a history book because you've missed the point of many brutal dictators. You missed the point of how they always start"... lead-in by MSNBC. Mighty Mislead-in, I'd say. Not responsible at all, but then why would I expect anything else of MSNBC.
Stay focused. It's "how they always start" that one has to be aware of, in order to fend off the consequences.

Indeed... extremely large numbers of the American people are beginning to take a much closer look at the Washington "Political Circus" due to the extremely dedicated work of the above mentioned folks !
It is most comforting to realize that the Americans of 2009 at long last have an extremely accurate media source in which to refer !

The numbers show Beck is beating his competition, that's all. No one can read anything else into it when so many people do not watch him.
