No matter what he does the "gotcha" peanut gallery will always have at him.
"He's going ? What a wuss!"
"He's not going ? what a wuss"
"he's thinking about going ? Git a move on, boy !"
"Ya, make up yer mind, Obammy"
"He went ? He's back ??? Why didn't he stop in North Korea?"
" That was an 800 dollar suit. People are dying in Afghanistan."
" I bet he even had the nerve to EAT while he was there !!"

Why should something that happened 20 years ago in another country, and was not solely the work of the US, take precedence over an attempt to improve the future of the US?
Is this the first time this has happened? Did Bush go to the 12th-19th anniversaries? Did Clinton go to those prior to that?
Obama is sending Secretary of State H. Clinton. That is well within her duties as head of the Department of State which principally charged with handling foreign affairs. This is also called delegating responsibility and doing so reasonable for anyone in an executive position. It happens; we'll live.
I am sure you said the same thing about sending delegates to Coppenhagen for the olypic bid right?
If not, you need to evaluate the opinion of the presidents priorities.
As someone whose family lived and rotted in the Soviet Union, who everyday is thankful to have escaped it and be living in America, I am disgusted by this filth that occupies the White House.
Did you guys really expect someone whose cultural and moral foundation is grounded in the 60's anti-US, Communist sympathizing crowd to celebrate the fall of communism and the triumph of America, the country they detest so much?

Why should something like sporting games take precedence over an attempt to improve the future of the US?
Thats it, I am going to dig up the Olympic thread so we can see how the same people here are being total hypocrites.
Why do you feel it was such a great achievment? Why not let them pick their form of government, and we can pick ours?
Are you seriously so ignorant that you would pose that question with a straight face? You think when me and my family was rotting under that disgusting tyranny called the Soviet Union we were living under a gov't we "picked" as you say?

If he went, the Obamaphobes would be saying that he's trying to make it look like America won the Cold War all on its own and he's dissing our NATO allies.
