But without proper dosing, anyone can essentially go insane for 12 hours... if you haven't reached that point, you just didn't take enough... there is no level of tolerance for a single dose and you can easily do enough acid so that NOTHING your eyes are seeing is real anymore. And so without a doubt, a few hits of strong acid would make you temporarily insane.
And without proper dosing, anybody can essentially DIE while drinking. To me, that makes alcohol more of a "hard drug" than any psychedelic. Also, it kills brain cells.

Also, unlike any psychedelic, it's addictive. And psychedelics rarely cause true hallucinations, unlike alcohol (the DTs).

This is true, but reality is.......nobody should really condone the use of psychedelics because you cannot compare it with marijuana in the sense that it DOES whack a person out pretty bad for 6-12 hours and since it does......it also cannot be legal....at least in the way that marijuana should be.......alongside alcohol and tobacco.

True, LSD and hallucinogens are not addictive but some people might choose to abuse them for a while, for the helluva it.
Thrillseekers and those who get their kicks out of watching the walls breathe and the ceiling drip in the comfort of their living room......which is a VERY scary thing to say to someone who's tripping. Tripping and the thought of a "living room".

I am familiar with the potential benefits that recent studies are suggesting from VERY minimal, non-trip levels of micro-doses of LSD and magic mushrooms that have shown promising for cluster headache sufferers, alcoholics, schizophrenics and other ailments.....but since LSD, etc. is so extremely potent.....it has NO PLACE AT ALL in our society.....LEGAL for recreational use!
Or, I just cannot picture it, for it WOULD be nuts.

Fortunately, not a large percentage of the population is too interested in acid......esp. since the 60's and 70s.
Just make it legal for medical study/experimentation for treating "certain" conditions, perhaps......but kept under lock and key and closely monitor the patients,

I also don't feel it's worth throwing someone in jail over......but some fine/mental/drug counseling SHOULD be necessary for someone who's found in possession of LSD and other drugs like it (shrooms, peyote).
Exemption: Religious ceremony/ extreme supervision and in fairly secure enviroment.

Or.....nobody has a right to tell another person what they can RESPONSIBLY put into their body. Require a license, as it's at least as potentially dangerous as driving a car, but to keep people from exploring these (mostly) natural substances is unconscionable. Screw religious exemptions. I'm so sick of the way religious beliefs are put on a pedestal. Aside from the "spiritual" implications of these substances, religion's got nothing to do with it. Who are you to say fines or mental counseling should be necessary for someone who's found in possession of a PLANT?

I think Leslie and I were properly dosed coming into Seattle on a Sunday around midnight. I wasn't sure I was keeping a steady speed, so Leslie said I should just keep the pedal all the way to the floor, which I did.

Another couple pulled up on our right and locked to our speed, I think it was about 110 MPH. Then there was some outrageous cross-flirting going on.

Then, a third couple pulled up on our left and also locked speed with us, and the cross flirting became a six-way.

Everyone got off and no one's hands left the steering wheel.

Then we all just coasted into downtown Seattle.

You are weird. One time of acid was enough for me. Didn't have a bad time but I just knew that if it were stronger & I wasn't in the company of friends, it would turn out bad.

More recently, there have been limited studies on it (and mushrooms and MDMA aka Ecstasy) in the treatment of PTSD and cluster headaches. There is a lot of potential in the psychedelics. If only the government didn't have its head up its ass, who knows where we'd be with it by now?
One of my coworkers was in the Army back in the 1950's; they gave LSD to him and his pals without their knowledge to see what it would do to people. Human guinea pigs. Our government has done many good things, but there's a lot of dirt on Uncle's hands too.

Isn't that what that movie "Jacob's Ladder" is about? I only saw it once & it was a very long time ago but it sounds like the same situation.
