Biggest names in U.S. business applauded for promoting alternative sexual lifestyles

Another three dozen major American corporations have acceded to the demands of homosexual activists in their corporate decision-making process and have been given a top ranking in an activist group's annual assessment of their accommodations.

The 2006 report from the Human Rights Campaign, which advocates for homosexual issues, was released yesterday and notes that "an unprecedented" 138 major U.S. corporations earned the top rating of 100 percent, up from 101 last year.

Sexual orientation shouldnt play any factor when somebody is applying for a job. Only skills and whatever should. If i hired somebody to work under me, and they were as gay as the day was long it wouldnt bother me once they can do the job. If it does bother someone, well, they can bury their heads in teh sands if they want.

If you're going to quote worldnetdaily.com, your post belongs in the Religion Forum. I don't know why we have a Religion Forum as some posters, (no matter what topic) tend to add a religious spin into every thought they share on City-Data. Suggestion: Try thinking outside The Bible when participating in topic outside the Religion Forum. Sorry for the rant here. Maybe I should have started my own thread.

it's a general news story...religion was never mentioned or implied..you need to think....and outside your own agenda would be good also. In fact this from the WEB site is their official mission statement.

"About WND

WorldNetDaily.com can best be explained by its mission statement:

"WorldNetDaily.com Inc. is an independent news company dedicated to uncompromising journalism, seeking truth and justice and revitalizing the role of the free press as a guardian of liberty. We remain faithful to the traditional and central role of a free press in a free society – as a light exposing wrongdoing, corruption and abuse of power.

"We also seek to stimulate a free-and-open debate about the great moral and political ideas facing the world and to promote freedom and self-government by encouraging personal virtue and good character."

Indeed, WorldNetDaily.com is a fiercely independent newssite committed to hard-hitting investigative reporting of government waste, fraud and abuse."

I suspect you're not familiar with it at all otherwise you wouldn't have made such a frivilous comment.

WorldNetDaily is not a "news" site.
It's a socially conservative news portal for fundie Christians.

And it has very little to do with liberty and freedom.

Anybody can write a mission statement. And any 'news organization' that employs the grand total of 25 people and was financed by Richard Mellon Scaife isn't going to rate very highly on the truth and integrity scales. WND is a disinformation mill, period.

No WND isn't a neocon site, they do attach Bush on globalization issues quite often.
They are concerned with gays, the idea of a NorthAmerican economic union and attacking liberal ideas.

But it's no more a news site than DemocraticUnderground is

The clue that gives away the intent of this article is in the first sentence. No company promotes homosexuality. They cater to the needs of gay workers. Nothing in it smacks of promotion of a lifestyle, just equal and fair treatment. World Net Daily is a very biased source of "news" that fundamentalists can use to scream about non-issues.

Yes indeed... to most of the responses above! It's a ridiculously biased site, 'nuff said.

Anyway, supporting equal treatment isn't the same as promoting something. Is a company promoting disabilities, weight problems, old age, gender, and everything else they can't discriminate against? Whether someone agrees with homosexuality or not, such personal opinions and judgments shouldn't be a factor in employment - period. Here in California, it's against state law to discriminate based on sexual orientation... isn't it that way in every state?
