Not to mention the low transportation costs and huge labor savings by outsourcing to Mexico as opposed to Asia.

I would not say everywhere. I will gladly trade with nations who hold the same values as this nation holds with respect to democracy, workers rights, the right to have a union, environmental standards and other such things. I have no issues with Canada or most of Europe. Even poor nations that are liberal democracies such as Jamaica, Aruba and such are welcome to trade with me. But corrupt slime places such as Mexico, hell no until they clean up the place, have FAIR elections and stop oppressing their labor. And stop dumping trash off the shore in California.

I am doing my part. I have a Honda car that was made in OHIO which is better than a Ford made in Mexico. And since Whirlpool has decided to abandon Indiana for Mexico when our washer and dryer need to be replaced, they will NOT be replaced with that brand. I will see if any other brand is made in the USA or Canada.
YES!!! NAFTA should be renegotiated.. NAFTA has devastated the economy of Mexico explaining much of the mass immigration (many of which is illegal) into the U.S...
Small farmers in Mexico shouldn't have to go out of business AND American citizens shouldn't be losing their jobs either..
Try to understand that the VERY SAME PRODUCTS sold in WalMart are ALSO SOLD AT many other stores - including Sears, KMart, Target, JCPenneys, Home Depot, Dillards, Kohls etc
If you had read one of my previous posts, I did not limit this to Walmart. One would have to have been born yesterday not to realize that this is ubiquitous, to say the least.
Try and get the Walmart worshippers to understand how by saving a few cents, they are undermining the entire economy...for the middle class anyway. I use Walmart as an example because they are epitome of greed, but most places have bought into the same policies. I try to buy Made in the USA or at least fair trade items. There are websites that list American made merchandise.
I don't mind paying more for items made in the USA. The problem is finding those items.
I'd gladly pay more for a tv, my clothing, etc. if they were made in the USA.
I was looking on a bottle of apple juice and it said the concentrate was from New Zealand and China. Something is seriously wrong when we can't even make our own concentrate for juice!
This is something that angers me greatly. President Obama campaigned on a promise to re-negotiate NAFTA and then, shortly after winning election, decided not to do it. To not do so now is ruinious to the American worker and the American economy.

That would be one of the best things he could do.
That would definitely change my opinion about him and his approval ratings would definitely see an improvement.
It should not be "renegotiated". It should be torn into pieces, used as ass wipe and flushed down the toilet. One of the WORST trade agreements EVER.
KevK, why don't you do the very same thing say with your - Mortgage, or car loan. Because what you are suggesting is the tearing up of a Contract, a contract that we (the US) agreed to (Pres. Clinton) and was ratified by the Congress of the United States (per our Constitution).
Sorry to tell you KevK - If I sign a contract - and agreement, I'm bound by it. To deliberately "tear it up", to deliberately ignore it, would be the dishonorable thing to do.
