Salvation is through faith alone but our good works is evidence of a true Christian life. You will know a true Christian by their fruits (works), which is a response to the gift of salvation. So faith without works is dead according to Scripture.
James 2:14
[ Faith WithoutWorksIsDead ] What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? James 2:20
But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith withoutworksisdead? James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit isdead, so faith withoutworksisdead also.
Jesus calls us to love one another as we love ourselves.
John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you loveoneanother; as I have loved you, that you also loveoneanother.
This includes assisting those in distress. How can I call myself a Christian (or human being) if I cannot even be bothered with picking up my cell phone and dialing 911 when someone is being brutally attacked as this poor 15 year old KID experienced? How can I even LIVE with myself if I did not even try to get her some help? Of course I am not strong enough to ward off the attackers myself, but calling 911 is the least I can do to help.
Salvation is sufficient unto itself. I don't need bliss, just contentment.
"A key witness to the gang rape of a 16-year-old Richmond High School student has suddenly gone missing. Salvador Rodriguez was originally a suspect, but now police want him on the witness stand.
Richmond police are calling this a "missing persons case." It has been three weeks since anyone has seen or heard from Rodriguez and his family says it is very unsual for this amount of time to pass without him contacting them. It is not just his family worrying about his whereabouts. The police also have their concerns."
Could be. My problem is that it's cases like this that further the thought that teens have no moral fiber, that they're all lazy, and that they all live deviant lifestyles. I'm getting so tired of teens never doing anything meaningful to help the world and make it a better place. They're all too busy gawking at a gang rape. Geez.
He was a guy that tried to help her by offering her his shirt, covering her up, telling other guys to leave her alone, that she was just a little girl. The thing is, he told his story to a tv news crew, who broadcast not only his face, but his name, too.
