Some posters keep bringing up the terms "normal" and "abnormal". Implying that what is true for the majority is what is "normal". As another poster said this makes blue eyes and red hair abnormal also; so I guess I got the triple "abnormal" whammy...LOL.

To these closed minded and mean spirited posters I say this: The majority of lifeforms on Earth are hermaphroditic, so is that what's normal? That would make straights as well as gays abnormal...think about it???

Huh? We're talking about human sexuality, and science. I fail to see how educating people is a bad thing, but I understand that many Americans believe in ignorance more than education, so I shouldn't be surprised if some share your opinion.

Geez people, it's the 21st century already. Dispense with this "homosexuals are brainwashing our children" mantra already. It just makes you look paranoid. If your child isn't biologically/genetically hardwired to be gay, no amount of discussion of the subject is going to "turn" him or her gay.
Some people think that having sex with a child is normal. Doesn't mean that I am going to agree tho.

This seems to fit here. A little bit about home schooling and indoctrination.

Science is science. There's no political agenda involved in telling people what research shows us.

Some people are afraid of information, I guess.

Maybe you could home school her and shield her away from the horrible world?

Another option would be to teach your kid how to use critical thinking skills, so as info comes in they can decide what they think about it on their own.

But the teacher is giving fact not opinion. Some men like men, some women like women is fact. Some kids have 2 moms, some kids have 2 dads is fact. That's all elementary school kids need to know at school, because it is a segue into the discussion around tolerance. The parents should be sharing with the kids how the family views it, that is their job after all.

Yep, and before you know it, homosexuality will become stigmatized and gay kids will feel ostracized! Oh wait - er - uh...
