It's interesting how so few in the government have the courage to call for our existing anti-trust laws to be enforced. People tend to forget that corporations were not meant to be almighty. That's why they have revocable charters.

And yet, when is the last time a state like Delaware (the site of incorporation for most of the nation's major financial institutions) actually pulled a corporate charter because the corporation had failed in its "duties to the community?"

Ultimately, voters have only themselves to blame for all this. Voters are the ones who empower the politicians who vote to enact the laws. Simple as that.

Hopefully people will wise up and vote a lot of these do-nothings out of office.

Well, this is NOT likely with THIS administration or this Congress......anymore than it ever was when the Pubs. were in control.
Govt. spend our tax money WISELY??...........NOT possible.

This is the reality of it and the biggest reason why WE are being foolish for being so partisan and so bitterly divided on so many issues, as a nation that claims to be "united".....as what?

Spoken by people that have no experience in the real world, no drive to ever achieve for themselves, no grasp on economics, a bastardized view of what the government's job is and are doomed to be failures in life.

Congrats on your future failings in life.

It's not big brother's job to make sure you're successful. It's yours. This has nothing to do with the wealthy. It's the mindset of the perpetually poor and pathetic that keeps them there. Not the successful.

I think you are confusing the moderately wealthy and successful (e.g., the successful local business classes of many communities) with the ultra-rich financial industry manipulators.

You don't make billions in that industry through "hard work and gumption." You make money by cleverly manipulating markets, insinuating your ex-employees into high-ranking government posts, and re-writing the laws to benefit you and hurt your competitors. And then when you get in trouble, you have your ex-employees (currently with the government) bail you out.

That's pretty far from the Franklinite ideal of successful small-business free market capitalism.

Only Americans are too dumb to know when they are being ass raped. This kind of crap would not be tolerated elsewhere. Not even in Canada.

Well, apparently it is the Democrats nowadays who would have to disagree with your views.

Why would anyone wish to "achieve for themselves" when their individuality is no longer respected or valued in a society or workplace that seeks equality in innovation, collectivism in all application of such and such little reward for individual effort in a "team player" world anymore?
You know? The LIBERAL mindset.

And some may argue that.......
It IS Big Brother's job to control....not yours. This has about as much to do with the wealthy as it does with wealthy people desiring control via govt. and corporate cooperation and lobby.......against the rest of society.....WE, the common, little people.

It's the mindset of the GREEDY govt. the banks, lawyers, courts and other large corporations that contribute to screwing many over and keeping a large segment of the population poor and destitute, just as well and at the opposite end of the spectrum that perhaps, you just might fail to recognize.

Just look at the wage gap between the average worker and the CEO, in America today.......from what it was, not so many years ago.
It's SICK just how much GREED can buy.

A greedy free market, a greedy government, run by greedy politicians, elected by greedy, materialistic Americans who are only getting poorer and more needy with each day.
But, greed never sleeps.

The LAST person I'm going to place blame on.....is WE, the common people of the USA. I would rather blame the politicians, lobbyists, lawyers and judges who never really cared what we thought was best for America in the first place, or we wouldn't have sunk so low as we have now, IMO.
