Absolutely! I'm with Chatteress on this one. Whether this cabby was Muslim or not is irrelevant as well. It's HIS hack. He can refuse service to anyone he pleases, for whatever reasons he pleases, and he did.
He was offended, and told these guys to seek the services of another cab, and people want to crucify him for his 'intolerance'. Is this, or is this not, still a free country? OK , so, he offended the gay community, well, they offended him. Sorry, but no group has the right to not be offended, but, businesses do have the right to refuse service. You can still be an a@%hole if you want. Or does the fact that he appears 'intolerant' to gays make this situation special? I don't think so, but, hey, that's just me

In New York City you are not supposed to refuse service to anyone you want to. If the guys were doing something that would be considered indecent in public or illegal, then the cabbie has the right to remove them from the cab but he cannot refuse service just because.

Yep. That means that a cabby could, technically, refuse service to anyone wearing a cross necklace if they don't like Christians. Can you imagine the freakout if that happened??

Really? It doesn't bother me at all.

What's next - do you want to make it illegal to kiss in public?

Passionate kissing in public is inappropriate but I'm ok with a chaste peck on the lips or cheeks. Passionate kissing should be done in private and not on display.

But those are your preferences. Should it actually be illegal to kiss passionately in public?

Aaaah...I see said the blind man.

And since Muslims are another "protected" class, they left his name out.

I think it is inappropriate to be kissing passionately in public. If two people cannot show courtesy and consideration to others by refraining from slobbering all over each other in the presence of other people who don't want to be exposed to it, then they should not be surprised (i.e. "offended") when someone calls them out on it. Other people have rights, too.

Passionate kissing is soft porn in public and indecent. I don't know if I'd go so far as to establish a law to ban it but it would be nice if folks were to be more considerate and show some self control. Get a room if passions reign out of control.
