Otherwise, however, not much is happening with global warming at the moment. The Earth's average temperatures have stopped climbing since the beginning of the millennium, and it even looks as though global warming could come to a standstill this year.
Ironically, climate change appears to have stalled in the run-up to the upcoming world summit in the Danish capital, where thousands of politicians, bureaucrats, scientists, business leaders and environmental activists plan to negotiate a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.Billions of euros are at stake in the negotiations.
Billions are at stake? Really? You mean if their radical emissions agenda is passed, they can benefit from billions of dollars? No.
I wouldn't even know who to quote first on this thread. Unbelievable. I'm just glad very few, if any, children will have read it. They need to be taught to pass through this life with only what you need. Live simply. This isn't about "saving the planet" or our "impact" on it now is it? The planet has been much warmer and much colder in her billions of years of existence. We have know idea why we're here or for how long. Are we a destructive species, oh heck yeah. Pretty much useless considering what we have to offer in return for our time here. We grotesquely overpopulate and rape natural resources with only one real regard - let's get rich and procreate some more!! We don't even make good fertilizer for cryin' out loud. It strikes me as laughable our need to cast blame in some ridiculous attempt to defend our gluttonous ways. Do we know the real issues here, such as resources as we know them are in fact FINITE. Pretty obvious oil companies know this, unless you're completely ignorant you know this. Not like there's little dinosaurs down there making more for us. I mean "saving the planet", really? More appropriately - saving our own chubby little Mcdonald's fed butt from extinction by grasping at the false strings of technology. Maybe our reason for being here is to die and become oil for the next, and hopefully more intelligent, form of life. So why not grab some shades, enjoy the time you have here and remember to leave it as natural as you found it. It's not like cleaning up after the baby boomers could hurt.
