AMA & AARP are organisations which flirt with socialist populism...
I think they represent the minority of physicians & retirees...
When I was young and foolish, I was a member of both. Have wised up and now have nothing to do with either outfit. Some of the state medical associations work FOR the physician. Texas Medical Assn is a good organization. Don't know about AARP membership, I think many elderly are still hoodwinked. But it is true only a minority of physicians are members of AMA. The AMA unfortunately only works for their own aggrandizement, not for the hardworking and forgotten physician.
With Medicare advantage programs being wiped out with this bill, I wonder how much money AARP will make selling Medigap plans to all those who will lose their advantage plans?
The only thing I see or hear from GOP types is "socialist" and "give me my country back", cant they just come up with something else. GWB was the best of you ok we get it! Thumbs Down for GOP Health Plan
The Congressional Budget Office has analyzed the Republicans’ proposed alternative to the Democrats’ health-care bill. The results? Under the GOP plan, 17 percent of legal, non-elderly Americans would be uninsured in 2010. By 2019, 17 percent of legal, non-elderly Americans would still be uninsured. The GOP plan would also save less money than the Democratic plan. According to the CBO, the GOP plan will reduce the deficit by $68 billion over the next two years. The Democratic plan will reduce the deficit by $104 billion. “The Democratic bill, in other words, covers 12 times as many people and saves $36 billion more than the Republican plan,” Ezra Klein writes.
So organizations responsible for lobbying for things like prescription drug benefits, housing for seniors, and how many other programs that cost more than have ever been paid for, now support another governmental bill that cant be paid for.. Excuse me while I pretend to be surprised..
Ok, pretend time is over. Of course they support more spending..
please learn how to do simple math.. and then maybe you can be part of the discussion..
