The best thing that could happen to the Democrats would be for Harry Reid to lose next year. Hopefully they can pick a leader that can actually LEAD and not follow. Reid is a total buffoon in my view. He would screw up a wet dream. I never thought anybody would be more ineffective than Daschle was but leave it to the Democrats to find somebody even worse.

I hope you two know they do the picking by the rule of seniority.

Reid is a liar with no class and useless. He also looks like something that would be lurking in an alley.

Well, if he loses the election, he won't be "picked."

Correct. He doesn't need to lose his seat in order to be ousted from his position as Majority Leader.
I've heard that Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin are interested in the position and that they both think Reid is doing a poor job.

They need to vote Schumer in. A reliably blue state - so he won't have to worry about being re-elected if he actually supports liberal goals.

What we need is a leader who not only shares the goals of liberalism but can actually get liberal policies through the body politic.
