Hate to blow your racist"I'm not a racist " stance but that was a racist statement.
The ONLY people I have heard make that insane comment have been WHITE people...but I also know that OTHER people(religious nuts) say it too, no matter what their skin color.
NOW do you honestly believe there are NO white religious fanatics????
er...Falwell....etc.
I'm just saying, but I've heard "Have a blessed day" or something to that extent from black women always.
what happens when you have religious nutcases in certain jobs. You get on a bus to go to work and the bus drivers tells you that the bus ain't going nowhere until we all hold hands and pray to jesus!

Not likely he was "crazy"......just, for whatever reason, showed poor judgment. Anyone could have "stood up to him" in a polite and courteous manner by saying, "Sir, I'm in a hurry to get to my destination and I don't like being delayed while you pray. Public transportation isn't the place for this. Please return to the drivers seat and let's get this bus moving again." Everyone was probably so shocked by the impromptu "prayer meeting" that no one thought of this.
Doing what he did showed that he was a bit off...exactly HOW off is the great unknown. Maybe he would have responded well to what you suggested, or maybe he would have gone crazier.
Since none of us were there, we can't say for sure just what the driver's demeanor--and likely response to a challenge--would have been. Most of us can "size up" people with a fair degree of accuracy based on countless subtle clues given off by them during any given situation and we then react accordingly. I would think it highly unlikely the driver would be armed with anything except maybe a pocket Bible.
Much ado about very little. No one was harmed. Get over it, passengers. (Most of them probably have by this time.)

I did not read that he was praying to jesus, but maybe he was praying to buddah or allah.

Yes, there are a lot of nuts out there, not just religious. I am between feeling sick and wanted to laugh myself silly!!!
By detaining the bus passengers against their will, and forcing them to do something they didn't want to, I don't see why he shouldn't be charged with kidnapping or something similar. Unlawful detainment? What he did is definitely not right. That bus driver has a screw loose and should definitely be fired as there's no telling what he might do next.
oh come on, you can't really mean that?
Of course what he did indicates he has a screw loose somewhere: I don't know he should be fired, but to be charged with kidnapping??
