Sorry to burst your bubble, but even all that searching simply isn't worth my time, and each thread is autonomous - unless otherwise noted, they are not continuations of other threads.
The incentive has always been there - it is an employee benefit. The reform aims to help those who are self-employed, or contractors, or work for companies that are too small or too part-time oriented to offer coverage.
Oh god, have you even looked at any parts of the bill?
The reform aims to help those who are self employed or contractors? How? As a self employed individual I want to really hear this spin. Companies under so many employees dont have to pay the taxes, (I think its 50 in the bill). Self employed are companies of ONE.. Their "company" doesnt pay the tax, but REQUIRING me to have care thereby increasing my costs and making me less competative does not help. You can pretend it does but it doesnt.. I dont want you help, please STOP HELPING.. I've seen what government help does to people.

You mean like it is now?

And obviously "reading the bill" wasnt worth your time either because its obvious you dont have a clue whats in it. I'll leave you to your own pretend land as to what it contains and how it will be helpful to me. I love the fact that others who dont know me can now proclaim they know whats best for me.

I think I will drop health insurance for my employees altogether and let them fend for myself.
That's your right.
It sounds like you have a smallish company anyway, so they might find a better deal in the public option.
Or, they'll find an employer who still offers insurance. Because what you'd REALLY be doing is docking their pay, and employees tend not to respond well to that.

And yet another sensible statement.
I'm close enough to retirement that after Jan 1 2010, I'll be laying off 15 (full time) and 12 (part time) people and closing up shop.
My margins have kept getting thinner and thinner every year, and I've had to deal with the government for 31 years with regard to tax liabilities and I don't want to do that anymore.
Wait, now its his right as an employer to dump their private care and go with the public option
I SAID THAT.. You said I was wrong..

Considering I have had to explain various parts of it to you - repeatedly - I highly doubt that.

Don't be so arrogant as to think anyone wants to "help" YOU. It is for the good of the economy as a WHOLE that we take measures to reduce the number of people filing bankruptcy. Because, guess what? You're ALREADY paying for the uninsureds/underinsureds medical bills - the reform would actually reduce that amount in the long run.

Yeah... not really.
