I especially enjoyed parts 3 and 4.... Chomsky is hitting the nail right on the head, so to speak...

Are you going to refute his points or are you just going to marginlize via labeling because you are too dumb to do so?

I have to admit that it's pretty funny in a time when the media is absolutely terrible, someone exists that acts critically towards the whole establishment (which was once the media's job) and people actual believe this tripe. Grow up.

I would also love to hear how Chomsky is a Marxist? Does it have to do with his HEAVILY pro-state attitude?????

This is the problem though, and it has been created by the media and government. Somewhere a long the line it because "unpatriotic" to question or challenge anything thats going on... Its really, really sad, and we want celebrities to tell us everything, as our news people are nothing but fanatical pretty faces to a bunch of garbage they are told to told to spew. We have created a nation with full of people with an attention span of seconds, and no one will listen to any actual information, just garbage entertainment.

Television and most educations do not encourage developing a long attention span or critical thinking. We are taught to believe authority no matter how foolish their orders. We are taught secular religion not politics.

Noam Chomsky is an iconoclast and infuriates the true believers.

Lets look at recent history:
In the Bush administration you were called a traitor and unpatriotic if you did not go along with the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and the War on Terror.

In the Obama administration you are a traitor and unpatriotic if you do not go along with their agenda in Healthcare, the Economy, or Gun control.
In fairness I have never seen a political leader in this nation have such a brainwahsing effect on his followers then Barack Obama.

It is not our system that is a failure at this point. It is the people Americans are voting into office. the question can be is it because of lack of choice? or because American voters are blind and naieve?

Chomsky calls it as he sees it and isn't shy about pointing out our faults as a country. If we don't realize we even have faults than how can we ever hope to fix them and become better? He's worth a listen.

Americans are duped by the media since US Media is basically one gigantic propaganda machine. As a matter of fact you interestingly pointed out one example (the Bush one) that Chomsky calls manufacturing consent.

In a democracy (and in a capitalist system) those who control information control the will of the people.

I would argue that it is a failure of the system since the system seems to subvert the will of the American people.
