That is socialism pure and simple, not just stronger social policies as you put it earlier.
Norway definitely does not have more capitalist economy than the US

I have a question for those who are against socialism, why are you against socialism? What's wrong with socialism?
Because it is incompatible with individual liberty.

My little state of Massachusetts has an economy that is roughly the same size as Norway. Take out Norway's oil and natural gas industry and The Bay State's economy dwarfs that of Norway's.

There are people out there who are working as hard as they can but still are left unemployed or getting minimum wage. Yes there are of course lazy people in the world but do not ever think that the people who are poor or struggling aren't trying their hardest.

You really think that the majority of people unemployed are LAZY? Just because someone is struggling with finding a job (due to the employment issues in America) does not mean they are not bending over backwards to find a job. True, there are lazy people but they're not the majority and never will be, socialism or not.

I am annoyed by the idea that a poor person on welfare is a lazy bum and a rich person living on dividends is a capitalist hero. Neither are doing anything useful so why is one a bum and the other a hero? IMHO the poor person trying to live on nothing is the hero and the rich preppie the bum.

I the voting public were rational they would have the government provide the basics for all of them and prevent the concentration of the wealth they generated into the hands of the very few. Unfortunately for themselves the public is irrational and the wealthy vote themselves protection by buying or being the politicians. As Jefferson and others saw when they organized this Republic, the privileged have become "the People" and the rest of us the exploited fools.

The logical outcome of a democratic Republic with unrestricted voting rights is socialism.

I don't understand the people that are saying socialdemocracy takes away their freedom and liberty

Sweden (and the rest of scandinavia for that matter) for example has always been known as a country based on socialdemocracy,
yet they have got the highest freedom of speech/press in the world.
They've still got the opportunity to grow extremly wealthy ( Just look at frobes richest peoples list, sweden has got alot of people on there for being a country of 9m people, for example Stefan Persson (H&M) Ingvar Kamprad (IKEA) Antonia johnson (Ax:son). ).
Sweden is the third largest music export in the world.
The Scandinavians are, according to Forbes and also other papers in top of the list of the happiest countries in the world.
Scandinavian countries tops the quality-of-life, human poverty, education, human development, and democracy index.
Sweden has been listed the most modern country after Japan many times.
You have to be a really big junkie an have no job to become homeless in Scandinavia. In US you can become homeless just because you get a disease and/or lose your job.
Everyones have got healthcare for everyone. They can marry whomever they want to marry. They have the opportunity to start their own company and grow rich. They have the highest freedom of speech/press in the world. These are only a few examples of their facilities, I could go on forever ( Free college-education, free school food, low crime rate etc. )

That, to me is freedom and liberty. And it's all socialdemocracy.

The problem with socialism is that when the takers outnumber the givers, it all collapses.

The USA has that situation now. Too few taxpayers, and a fast growing needy class.
