What do you all feel about that?
Of course every one has a right to health care- however there is no right to receive any service without paying for it. That's called either bad debt or theft of services; unless it's paid for by tax revenues- then it's called charity.

And if a major illness hits decent hard-working people who aren't insured it's called bankruptcy.

And that is plain wrong.

And if your house burns down "decent hard-working people who aren't insured" lose everything. Is this plain wrong as well?
Shall we buy them a new house complete with contents?

Charity.

Oh, geez, the old bankruptcy card.

Guess what? They have socialized medicine in Canada, and they STILL had over 90,000 people filing for bankruptcy in 2008 alone. That doesn't include businesses. You know why? Because whether or not you have socialized medicine, you have millions of people who make stupid financial decisions and buy crap they don't need or afford. Hell, they even have a tv show in Canada about that - Till Debt Do Us Part. And most of the people on the show are making $50k to over 100K a year.

And tell me how medical bankruptcy is any different from other bankruptcy. They all demonstrate poor preparation and lack of financial planning/responsibility.

A house is a thing. People are living, sentient beings.

And no one is talking about buying or giving anyone anything. All I did was call attention to facts.

But if you want, we can talk about giving Afghanistan thousands of our young men and women to guard their opium crops while millions of Americans lack decent medical care.

Bring it on...

Tell me why should someone not quit their job and allow you to provide for them?

How long will you keep working to provide for them?

You wont get upset working for life so Jane doesnt have to right.

Between food stamps, section 8, Gov housing, and so on why should someone work?

I am going to call my husband and tell him he can quit his job because people will work for him and provide for us

Apparently your not very educated in the workings of the real world. When this happens you talk with the medical providers and set up payment plans. They would rather get something than nothing. These types of things are done every single day.

I know as I have had to do that when I've been without insurance. The birth of two of my children happened when I didn't have insurance. It took a couple of years but I got them paid off.

It's all about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!!!

And if something like that happens, you can make payments.. Besides people act like bankruptcy is a bad thing,,,it's not, it's a blessing for these people.
