Interesting, especially since I know of no one that would want Dubya back in office, not even the Republicans. Maybe you would, but if the election were held today McCain would still lose the election, so the majority disagree with that thought. Bush couldn't have been re-elected even if he could have run, heck the Republicans running for office were trying to distance themselves from Bush because his support was the kiss of death politically speaking. Loved the comment that at least with Bush you knew where he stood, yeah, he blundered ahead and got us into a war that had zero to do with fighting those that attacked us on 9-11. He did Nothing when it came to dealing with the major issues, such as education, SS, and illegals entering the country. In otherwords, Bush became a lame duck soon after starting his second term, first term was devoted to the wars, the only reason many of us voted for him was we did not like the alternative choice. Obama will be President for at least another 3 years, in that time the current situation will improve, count on it, and what that means is that Republicans cannot count on dissatisfaction with the Democrats to regain power. The Republicans need to get their house in order, come up with new ideas and working on helping to solve the issues and most of all find candidates that actually have something to offer besides, I am not the other guy. We all know well how productive they were when they held the majority, heck we are still paying for their productivity. If they do change they may regain some politcal power, if they do not the Democrats will still retain the majority, maybe not in the Senate but I doubt the House will go Republican any time soon. Oh, and one final thought, I find it interesting that this came out of the UK and not the USA, but I guess you believe that some Brits have a better feel for American politics than Americans themselves do, sure they do.

I'm an American and I'm certainly not wistful for George W. Bush.

I'd gladly replace Obama with Dennis Kucinich.

I'm curious in your mind what has Obama done to improve regarding illegals entering the country. wars, etc...

BTW...interesting regarding your comment about the Brits...They probably do... since they're socialists like Obama...

I would prefer a straight socialist economy to this mutant form of monopoly business and crony capitalism. Socialism would be cheaper.

Yet another post where I agree with you.

Well, first your title says that Americans want Bush to include Democrats.

Second, it's another of your titles that is a lie.

What "Americans"?

Which "Americans"?

How MANY "Americans".

Where's the stats?

Proof?

It isn't ALL Americans by a long shot so your title starts the thread with a lie.....

Just to throw this out there. I'm gonna make a monthly check list and see what Obama has done so far that would make me reelect him.

Things that should have been addressed but aren't:

Don't Ask Don't Tell
GLBT marriage rights
Gitmo
BOTH wars are still in effect and with no solid plans from the White House.
High unemployment
Illegal Immigration
Job offshoring is still here, which is total bs.
Education
True healthcare reform is being pushed aside.
The deficit is insanely too large and NO ONE IN THE WHITE HOUSE CARES.
The drug war raging in Latin America.
The problems in the Horn of Africa.
AIDS/HIV crisis hasn't even been mentioned by this administration, I think.
Global human trafficking
Israel/Palestinian conflict, which is the apex of a lot of Middle Eastern tension with the West.

So far, and all my Democrat friends agree with me here...Obama has been a huge letdown so far. No one expected him to fix all this in a year, but geez, you could at least create plans and start finding ways to implement them. I honestly can't think of anything Obama has done outside of this weakly thought out healthcare bill in MONTHS.

that said, nothing would make me want Dubya back. Nothing.

First the title was written by the author of the piece not by the person who posted it here. And second the subtitle of the piece says "makes SOME Americans" not ALL as you are trying to indicate. Its an opinion piece -- get a grip!
