We had a rather large one hanging on our front door (before we got the stickers..) and it didn't deter them at all.
Of course not. In their eyes you are the jackpot.
Best course of action: If you see them coming, let them knock and yell out "just a minute" and then leave them waiting for as long as they care to wait. Eventually they'll leave and when they do they'll have less time spend pestering your neighbors.
Same deal with phone solicitation. Just say "hold on a minite", then put the phone down until they hang up.
That does not work, they'll be back, with different people.
I'll comment later on how I got rid of, once and for all, these sheep.
How about saying something like this to them, the next time?
I'm currently on parole for abducting two bible salesman who came to my door one day, 30 years ago, when I was in a bad mood, then sexually abusing them for days on end, then torturing them for weeks on end, and finally stabbing each one repeatedly. I do believe God has finally forgiven me.
