Look, the islamic religion makes it pretty clear in their holy book that they are expected to push their beliefs across the world using every available means... even death.
An increase in these radical muslims, proclaiming to do what they did for religious reasons, gets the focus on the religion.
Problem is the radicals take that literally and have plenty of Islamic clerics that back them up.
As far as Christian extremists..have you ever heard the Pope or Bishop or even Pastor back them up and praise them for what they did ?
I don't buy it,.... show me a quote from the Koran that promotes this.
Taubah 9:5
"when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush" .
O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.
SHAKIR 009.029 - 30
Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax (jizyah) in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.
Sura 4:74:
“Let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. To him who fights in the cause of Allah, - whether he is slain or gets victory - soon shall We give him a reward of great value.”
Sura 9:123:
“Believers! wage war against such of the infidels as are your neighbours, and let them find you rigorous: and know that God is with those who fear him.”
Hadith vol. 9:50:
Mohammed said: “No Muslim should be killed for killing a Kafir (infidel).”
Hadith vol. 9:57:
Mohammed said, “Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.”
I've seen lots of Christian shows praising the guy who bombed abortion clinics. Pat Robertson was very vocal in his support for killing abortion doctors.
Of course, he isn't wearing a turbin.
And as far as the Qur'an, have you ever read the bible? Its a very bloody book, one in which you are instructed to kill any number of people who do certain acts.
Yes but . . As far as I know, neither the Bible nor the Koran makes any mention of crazy people.
Course, if everyone is crazy, how could anyone be crazy?
Why does any of what you mention mean that an entire religion should be deamonized? So when the next Christian nut kills somebody while yelling praise Jesus, I expect you to deamonize all Christianity.

That is true, I have heard quite a few nuts say that God told them to do it. Valid point.
I am not saying that the entire islaimc religion should be suspect, I am simply saying that when things happen over and over and over and are linked back to religion, anybody that says "why did this happen", yet can't see that MAYBE its the religion is playing politics.

Evangalism perhaps, that is common in Christianity as well but, the Koran does not promote violence. If you read your Old Testament you'll find many instances in which it was directed to kill every living thing in order to take control of an area (David, Gidean, Amalek). The Koran and the Bible have a lot of their history common.
"Therefore We will most certainly make those who disbelieve taste a severe punishment, and We will most certainly reward them for the evil deeds they used to do." (41.27)
"Therefore let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell this world's life for the hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, then be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty reward." (4.74)

"O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand." (8.65)
