Drudge reports (and cites) Der Spiegel, the German news magazine, as complaining that Obama lied to the Europeans when he promised to make climate change a top priority of his administration. With the imminent failure of the Copenhagen talks on climate change Spiegel is blaming Obama for failing to get a climate bill enacted which, it contends, lead to that failure. I think the bloom is off the rose.

Are you reporting this because you think this is good or bad?
Did you happen to see that the President has reached an accord with China?

"Days after the US president, Barack Obama, said time to secure a legally binding agreement had run out, he and the Chinese president, Hu Jintao, today agreed at a summit that they would continue to press for a comprehensive deal at the Copenhagen climate change conference that would "rally the world"."
...
Hu said China and the US had agreed to expand cooperation on climate change, energy and the environment and to "help produce positive outcomes out of the Copenhagen conference"."

Perhaps Der Spiegel rang the bell on Copenhagen a bit soon.

Don't you love it. Sarkozy criticized the President - we can eat French fries again.
