I stood there thinking "Why can't a supermarket provide tissues to their cashiers....Or. why doesn't the cashier have the brains to carry tissues? She's dealing with the public.

But then it gets worse...I go to a restaurant for a take out - the person taking the orders and bagging them, sneezes into her sleeve, then reaches over and wipes her nose with the sleeve...

For crying out loud!...Helloooo!..Restaurant owners...How about teaching your 19 year old workers some basic manners?...Or healthy practices?

This is crazy...Maybe we should just stay at home, making our own food...And carrying our own boxes of tissues to give the little jerks at the supermarket registers a hint of basic health practices, or cleanliness.
One cannot avoid contact with other humans. Tissue will not help. I think they SHOULD have hand sanitizers at every checkout station.

Get your vaccine and wash your hands! I wash my hands about 30 times a day (at least). I am not obsessive compulsive, I am a physician. We have hand sanitizer in every exam room (in addition to soap and water) and hand sanitizer in the waiting area. Masks are offered to anyone with a cough.

If you mean big as in fat, then no I am not. Using public transportation and walking everywhere while eating in moderation helps keep me fit.

golly I am glad you wash your hands that much. I would hope before you see me you have clean ones...LOL

Nita

ps: exactly: as for not avoiding contact with whatever. I guess we can all live in bubbles. Most of the stores around here do have hand sanitizers many places....Both as you walk in the store and walk out.

There's a Chinese carryout by me that has 25 cent eggrolls with no minimum order. I think 12 eggrolls ought to fill you up nicely.

Hellloooo!!!!
General Manager of a restaurant here.
From now on, when one of my employees feel a sneeze coming on, they will stop doing what they are doing, run to the restroom, sneeze into a tissue, wash their hands (properly), grasp and open the bathroom door with a paper towel, return to their station and dispose of the paper towel before completing your transaction.
I would not want them to handle your food or your change with their sleeve. We all know how unsanitary a person's sleeve is.

That reminds me....I'm going to have to remind my prep cook to stop preparing the salad mix with her sleeves. I hope she can remember, because she's sort of old and set in her ways.

(This thread has been brought to you folks by someone that has no knowledge of food preperation)

Well, that's mighty BIG of you - I'm sure the Public Transportation designers will take that into account, by designing a seat that will accommodate you.
