A Tennessee state trooper has been suspended for 15 days without pay and will be required to attend diversity training after he accidentally sent an e-mail proclaiming white pride to 787 state employees.
The e-mail from Trooper Brent Gobbell states, in part, "You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member ... you call him a racist." It also includes a list of racist epithets.
Is that all there is to the email? Because if so, I don't see the problem. Everything he said is true! Racial epithets are another story. He shouldn't have done that but I fail to see how "diversity training" is going to solve the problem. I wonder how many black officers send emails referencing crackers and honkies . . .
Poor choice of words. Shouldn't have said that, especially to 750 employees. I agree though that he's kinda right. But you can only blame the society, not anybody else. It's just how those things are being judged. The word racist it being used to often and everybody gets called a racist when those kind of things happen. It's sad.

Think about if you had sent such an email with similiar language to everyone in the company you work for. That's how I'm looking at the above story. It's an inappropriate email for company or government. If this was his private home email then he should not have been suspended.
First of all we should all be proud of our cultural herritage. There is nothing racist about being aware of what makes you you.
The part of the story that is disturbing is the white victim tone to the story. The fact is there is more white on white crime than there is black on white crime.
If the black gang banger is a threat to your life or the life of the community and the tax payers are paying you to defend their community then you should do what your paid to do. If you roll around in your cop car thinking that you can murder someone without being able to justify that person as a threat then you have no business serving any community.
The racialist slurs that where described by the media, if true should be an embarassment to the state of tennessee. There is noway he is qualified to serve a diverse community as a cultural supremacist.
I am not saying what he did was right but this "DIVERSITY TRAINING" is the most idiotic, Liberal, PC crap I have ever heard in my life. What the hell is diversity training anyways, a bunch of people just holding hands and singing Kumbaya together? Our society gets more idiotic by the minute!

If anyone sent an e-mail like this for the company they worked for they would have been fired.
He should be fired. Anyone who has authority over civilians and the responsibility to protect, can't be trusted to do their job if they are that disrespectful toward a large segment of our population. Diversity training isn't going to change his low opinion of black people. He'll say he's sorry to keep his job but he exposed his true colors in the email he sent. They should have taken his badge.
Hey, John1960, when are you going to start posting about important stuff, or are you just capitalizing on your ratings? You are so, so tiresome. I guess next you will be finding posts when someone bows, he passes wind, huh?
I have the right to post as much as you do. If you don't like it don't read it.
