He should be fired. Anyone who has authority over civilians and the responsibility to protect, can't be trusted to do their job if they are that disrespectful toward a large segment of our population. Diversity training isn't going to change his low opinion of black people. He'll say he's sorry to keep his job but he exposed his true colors in the email he sent. They should have taken his badge.
I am not saying what he did was right but this "DIVERSITY TRAINING" is the most idiotic, Liberal, PC crap I have ever heard in my life. What the hell is diversity training anyways, a bunch of people just holding hands and singing Kumbaya together? Our society gets more idiotic by the minute!

You are so right shizzles. People don't need a public servant job if they can't respect public differences. Someone like this police officer needs a job working in a back office somewhere where he is not dealing with anyone other than his own kind.

Sorry, but anyone who has a gun as a part of his job is and should be held to higher standard then the bagger at the Piggly Wiggly. If he is unable to understand that, I suggest he hone his customer service skills.
Is that all there is to the email? Because if so, I don't see the problem. Everything he said is true! Racial epithets are another story. He shouldn't have done that but I fail to see how "diversity training" is going to solve the problem. I wonder how many black officers send emails referencing crackers and honkies . . .

If you read the original article, the interesting thing is that the sender of the email claimed not to have known he was sending it to a bunch of people. He claimed to have sent it to himself so he could print it. His claim may or may not have been sincere, but it leads to another point that I think gets ignored far too often.
I, for one white person, am sick and tired of white people playing the white victim card when they get held responsible for their racist crap. Free speech entails responsibility, and free speech does not entail freedom from criticism. I think the problem now is that some white people are mad that they are getting called on their racist remarks and behavior. They wish they could still engage in such activity with impunity. That ship has sailed, and it has nothing to do with PC. It has to do with the fact that black people or all women or whomever can now sass you back publicly when you say stupid stuff without worrying quite so much about getting blacklisted, glass ceilinged, or lynched. I mean that in all seriousness, and I've got historical examples to back me up.
