I'd like to see them explain that to the woman in this story.

Oops, too late. Well, maybe next time, eh?

Guarded by police, woman slain

i seriously doubt that the 2nd amendment will come out of obamas first term alive! most of the people reading this will blame the liberals of this world for that. i won't. i will blame george bush, cheney, o'reilly, limbaugh, newt, and the rest of the gop and the right when they drive another stake into the heart of the constitution!

for years the right has been cheerleading the big government, nanny state to keep us safe from drugs and terrorists. they've made an incredible argument that it is the states role to protect us from everything. they've made a huge song and dance about the states right to know everything that goes on in our lives. now we sit in wonder at why they're going after our right to self defense!

the right needs to carefully examine what its future is because its intolerance of civil liberties has become unnacceptable to younger voters. if the right abhors what this president is doing now, wait until he is imboldened by winning a 2nd term!

I think gun rights are needed because the police won't be around all the time
and self-defense is something that a gun is needed for.......I just don't like it when the people abused their rights to have guns law and kill innocent people

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.

When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

As I said, it is pretty easy to "explain" a gunshot wound. Wouldn't you be able to do so? "Someone shot me!" is all that needs to be said.

It doesn't stop there. There'll be an investigation (a homeowner will make a report, too) so it won't take long for the police to put 2 and 2 together (and yes, I'm aware of youyr disdain for the police).

If the homeowner DOES file a report...

besides, this doesn't account for scenarios where the assailant and the gun owner met out in public somewhere.

Get real TK - a homeowner would file a report - there is absolutely no reason not to -

And your stating that you are better than anyone else is very old - get some new material

The fact is - MANY people have been able to protect themselves with a firearm. There is a firearm made by the North American Arms company - it is the "Mini" -

North American Arms

They have a model (not shown) that the barrel folds INTO the handle - fits easily into a pocket.

A great self protection weapon

A concealed carry permit holder will file a report. To fail to do so is itself a crime. Almost by defintion, with the way many states issue CCW permits, that group as a whole is extremely law abiding. Too many speeding tickets (3) in MD will cause a permit revocation.

I really don't give a damn if someone else thinks I don't need a gun (and I don't have one, either, but the thought has crossed my mind recently because of the current administration and what I see may be happening. A gun may be necessary).

At any rate, it is a right guaranteed by the Constitution, regardless of what someone things of the "need".
