At least, that's what a lot of anti-gun-rights people will tell you while making the argument that "Nobody needs a gun", or "Nobody need such-and-such kind of gun", etc.

I'd like to see them explain that to the woman in this story.

Oops, too late. Well, maybe next time, eh?

When seconds count, the police are minute away!

The police were either slacking, or the guy is one sneaky mofo!

Little-Acorn, thank you! This is the best post of 2009 on this liberal-dominated forum. Thank you!

In simplest terms:

So let's get rid of the police entirely.

All they really are is another group of gun wielding thugs and fascists.

I wish minutes, In my neighborhood, usually the police take anywhere from 30-70 minutes to arrive.

Great job with the "serve and protect" BS!

Another good example of WHY EVERYONE SHOULD be heavily armed and ready to protect themselves.

Cops are usually far too busy with more pressing issues to be there when you might really need them.
Many of 'em can't shoot very straight, either.

YOUR life.......YOU protect and DEFEND IT and don't expect anyone else to do it for you, and you'll generally, be a-OK.
It's called.......REALITY.
Something that can't really be controlled.

Proud supporter of the Second Amendment and the NRA!

I have another story of one. Not that long ago, people all of this country watched on the News, the video of young Derrion Albert being beaten to death here in Chicago. The police sat there and watched it happen. They didnt get out of their cars until after the fight broke up.

I'm a gun rights advocate, but I don't think I would get a laugh out of anyone being killed. I understand you probably didn't mean it that way, but I just had to say...

It is true that the police is not able to protect everybody.
Everyone has the right & perhaps the duty to protect himself.

On the other hand,a little Darwinism is not wrong...
People are bombarded with true stories where a gun saved the lives of various victims.
If,after all those stories, they insist to remain unarmed,it's their choice & their life...
