I am wondering if Harry Reid, SEIU and the others involved in the writing of his secret Health Care bill ever heard Obama promise not to raise or create any new taxes for the middle class. Somehow the new bill he brought out yesterday seems to add a whole bunch of taxes along with some real increases on others.
Americans for Tax Reform have presented a list of 18 new and added taxes and some are to be for everybody, rich and poor, who works and makes any wages. It is sickening to look at this list of new taxes and the amounts of money that each is to raise to help pay for the new system. Pay especial attention to the end of the list as the one that hits every wage earner is there for you to see.
The problem is that idiots believe "they" are going to get something... the bill as it is written is ONLY for the uninsured... if you work and have insurance you get a big fat nothing... but the government is going to RAISE taxes to pay for it... you get it yet? The uninsured are basically NEVER going to pay into a self-supporting system... everyone else will... first it will be this "group" soon enough it will be YOU... you are only escaping the first few years, later on, YOU are going to pay someone's health care regardless of whether you are middle class or not... I laugh when I see students in California complain... apparently they don't like socialism when THEY have to pay... hypocrites... but this is America, everyone wants whats good for them but not pay a dime for anyone else... especially those darn "socialists"...
Well..the people wanted healthcare and demanded the government give it to them.
To those that will lose their health savings accounts, get taxed on their cadillac plans, lose their itemized deductions (raised to 10% AGI) I ask....
"Who is John Galt?"
You need to mention the added taxes that will get every wage earner. The Medicare tax will be raised on everybody, even we of the SS group who didn't get our normal raises this year.

The worst part of this bill is that, just like the Pelosi bill, we get to pay taxes for 3 or 4 years before anybody gets anything from it. We pay for 10 years and collect for 6 of them. Now I wonder if they start over again at the end of the first ten years. Like pay for years 11-14 and then start having insurance again.

But one way or the other, we are paying for the uninsured with high premiums and ridiculous fees hospitals and doctors charge. I'm not sure this health care reform is it, but we need something for the average person to afford healthcare. I am unemployed, paying $850 for COBRA. What is going on here?
I don't understand how "unemployed" and paying $850 works (unless you got a lot of savings)... I agree that there needs to be some sort of safety net for the uninsured but for me, I want a system that is self-sustaining... the only way to make something self-sustaining is NOT to based it on taxes... that is one of the most foolish ways to develop a program because it won't last... looking at medicare/social security, you think we would know it by now... the only way a system can work if it works to sustain itself... if its based on "revenue" generated by something else, its never going to work... that's what a parasite is... and parasites don't live forever but they cause a lot of devastation to the host...
One way and it's drastic..is to get rid of insurance except for catastrophic care (includes hospitalization). Then you watch those doctor fees come down..watch those drug prices come down.
If you need proof..just take a look at cosmetic surgery. No insurance..out of your pocket and costs HAVE NOT skyrocketed like "covered" stuff.
Each guy along the way is getting his chunk of money...well cut out that middle guy. Tell the insurance to go back to just insuring hospital stays and serious long term illness.

Those who fail to comment here are cowards, IMO.
No. It will not be raised on everyone.....LOL
The Medicare tax applies to individual income over $200K per year or couples earing $250K per year. It's 1.45%
My God. If you can't get this right do you think you are qualified to judge the bill?

Oh that's the only way it will work? If we don't fund it by taxes?
Please tell the scores of Countries around the World that do it exactly by using tax revenues!...lol
The will be real suprised it's NOT WORKING...LOL
